Your Questions, Answered
What is the session fee?
The session fee is the cost to reserve the studio for your shoot. It also covers the photographer’s time, expertise, and the actual photo session itself. It’s the fee for creating the images, separate from any products, prints, or digital files you may choose afterward.
Our session fee starts at $ 200.00; if you prefer an outdoor session or would like to be photographed at your home, we charge an additional $ 100.00.
We also offer a longer business session and a three‑hour branding session tailored to your needs. This session includes a consultation, three prepaid images, multiple outfit changes, and is designed to reflect your brand and personality as clearly and professionally as possible
What should I wear?
Good choices are neutrals, earth tones, soft pastels, or other colors in the same family. Try to coordinate rather than match. Choose a few colors that complement each other, and avoid logos, neon colors, and busy patterns. Comfortable clothes with some texture or layers usually photograph best.
How long is the session?
A 90-minute photo session gives us plenty of time to settle in, get comfortable, and capture a mix of portraits. We’ll usually start with a few simple posed shots, then move into more relaxed images, outfit adjustments, and a variety of groupings or looks if needed.
When & how do I view my images?
Depending on availability, our viewings are in-person or via Zoom and are scheduled 7 - 14 days after the photo session. It gives you a chance to see the photos, compare options, and decide on prints, wall art, or digital images with guidance from our design team.
Do you offer payment plans?
At this time, we do not offer payment plans. However, we’re glad to accept your order with a 50% deposit, and the remaining balance may be paid at pickup.
How much do clients typically invest?
Most of our clients invest between $1,200 and $5,000 for their final collection, but we also offer digital images beginning at $249 for those who want a more flexible option.
What are your hours?
Our studio is open seven days a week from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM, and we’re happy to accommodate after-hours bookings when needed.
How Do I Contact You?
You can reach us via phone at (818) 825-3743 and (505) 720-8412 or by email hausofportraitsllc@gmail.com
What is the current turnaround time from viewing images to picking up my order?
As a high-quality studio, we care deeply about the final result. We work with skilled retouchers to ensure your order is carefully finished, and please allow approximately two weeks before pickup
What is your rescheduling policy?
To keep our schedule running smoothly as a small business, we require 48 hours’ notice for rescheduling. With proper notice, your session fee can be applied to a new date.”
What if there is bad weather forecasted for the day of our outdoor portrait sitting?
We always keep an eye on the weather and will be in touch the morning of your outdoor portrait session if we need to reschedule due to severe weather. Because New Mexico weather can change quickly, we don’t reschedule based on forecasts alone — only if conditions are truly too poor to complete the shoot safely and comfortably.
Where Are You Located?
We are located on Second Street in Santa Fe, a refined and well-situated area known for its connection to the city’s creative community Unit 33.
How Do I Book A Portrait Sitting?
You can call our studio or book directly on the website.
Do I Have To Purchase Any Images?
Please know there’s absolutely no pressure to purchase any images. We want you to choose only the ones you truly love, and there’s no obligation beyond that.
Do You Offer Digital Options?
We do offer digital options, including retouching. Digital packages start at a single image and go up to 30 images, depending on what you need.
Can pets and children be photographed together?
Absolutely — pets and children can be photographed together, and those portraits often become some of the most meaningful images.
We do recommend that children are comfortable around the pet and able to follow simple direction, since safety and a relaxed experience are most important. Sessions are planned with patience, flexibility, and plenty of room for breaks, so we can capture natural moments without pressure.
If your pet or child needs a little extra time to warm up, that is completely okay. We’ll work at their pace to create beautiful portraits of them together.
Do you help with posing?
Yes, absolutely. You do not need any modeling experience at all. We fully guide you through every pose and expression during your session so you never have to wonder what to do. I’ll direct everything in a way that feels natural, flattering, and comfortable, so you can relax and enjoy the experience while we create beautiful images.
